Surfing in Morotai

The northern Moluccas in general and Morotai in particular are suitable for surfers who are looking for empty LineUps, off the beaten Indonesian paths. The swells, which cause waves in the northern Moluccas, spring from the same storm systems which provide, for the surfers at the time still more well-known, waves in the Philippines / Siargao. The peak season for waves is from late October, early November to March. In these months, the traveling surfer can expect consistent, mid-sized and varied reef waves, with almost no other surfer in the line-up.
