Tours in Morotai
History, Nature and Wildlife - it's yours to discover!
Morotai Island, just a 20-minute boat ride away from Metita, offers splendid hiking opportunities for those who are enthusiastic about discovering untouched forests inhabited by beautiful birds. One of the highlights of hiking here is Raja Waterfall, which has a drop of almost 80 metres. There are large caves to explore that are practically unchanged since when the first Europeans arrived.
Morotai was an important bastion for the Allies in WW2 , evidence of which is still visible around the island. Learning about the spices and silver trade is also a really interesting thing to do on the island. Still now, the smell of cloves drying in the sun and nutmeg during harvest season is overwhelming.
